Family Therapy

Family Therapy

For families navigating tension, transitions, divorce or communication patterns that aren't working. Sessions may involve the full family, parents, siblings, or an older child or adolescent individually, depending on the circumstances.

How Family Therapy Helps

Family therapy creates a shared space to slow reactive dynamics, understand how patterns are operating across the family system, and support more effective communication. This work is often helpful when families are:

  • supporting  older children or adolescents navigating anxiety, ADHD/executive functioning, academic or social pressure, family conflict, or major transitions
  • processing and adapting to divorce and custody arrangements
  • experiencing family conflict around changes, including aging parents
  • navigating sibling or blended family dynamics
  • adjusting to separation, loss, or major transitions
  • struggling to communicate without escalation or withdrawal
  • negotiating family business hurdles around communication and systems

I also work directly with older children and adolescents when individual support is appropriate. Common concerns include anxiety, ADHD and executive functioning, academic or social pressure, emotional regulation, confidence, family changes, and parent-child conflict. With adolescents, the goal is to give the young person a space that feels genuinely useful while also helping parents understand how to support them appropriately. Depending on the circumstances, treatment may include individual sessions, parent consultation, or family sessions.

Sessions focus on improving understanding, strengthening boundaries, and supporting healthier interaction across the family.
